After becoming a mother, Tisdale placed more value on taking time for self-care to help her find moments for herself while raising a child.

“Being a mom and trying to balance work and life, at the end of the day, I can feel exhausted ,” she told PEOPLE in July 2022. “It’s important to know when you hit that mark and [to be] like, ‘I need to take a moment. I need to shower. I need to do my nightly ritual.” “

Between finding time for herself and juggling her career, Tisdale told PEOPLE in February 2023 that she struggles with “mom guilt.”

Tisdale announced she was expecting her first child in September 2020 with a couple of photos of her and Christopher posing in white outfits as she caressed her baby bump.

The Masked Dancer star had previously been open about not being ready for children yet, but after announcing her pregnancy, she wrote on her blog that she knew it was the right time.

“I’m not naive about how a baby changes everything as I have a niece and plenty of friends with kids. I’m glad I worked on myself before we decided to make this decision,” Tisdale wrote. “After six years of marriage, we built a strong foundation, and the timing just felt right.”

On March 23, 2021, Tisdale’s daughter, Jupiter, was born. She shared the happy news in a black-and-white Instagram photo of the newborn holding her finger, writing that Jupiter “arrived earth side.”

From the day she was born, Tisdale said her baby girl had her personality, even though she looked more like Christopher.

“She definitely looks like my husband, but definitely is my personality,” she told PEOPLE. “Just her expressions and just how she says things and it’s just those little tiny things because at first I’m like, ‘Gosh, she doesn’t look anything like me.’”

“I was like, ‘I just had you in my stomach for so long and how do you not look like me?’ ” she continued. “But then you’re like, ‘Oh, you are so me. It’s not even funny.’ “

Shortly after she was born, Jupiter met some of Tisdale’s close friends and former costars, including Vanessa Hudgens.

“Juju & Aunt Nessa,” Tisdale wrote alongside a photo of Hudgens cradling Jupiter on her Instagram Story. She added more photos of the pair to her Story, writing, “Literally Jupiter opened her arms like hold me the minute she met Ness. Warmed my heart.”

Eight months later, Jupiter met Tisdale’s Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure costar and close friend Austin Butler.

“He didn’t get to see me pregnant in person because it’s been two 1/2 years since he’s been home but this guy FaceTimed me throughout and it felt like he was there,” she wrote of the special moment they met on Instagram.

She added, “He even FaceTimed Jupiter in the hospital the morning after I had her. He’s one of my best friends and to see him with Juju is so special .”

Though Tisdale doesn’t necessarily want Jupiter to follow in her footsteps as an actress, explaining that she wanted her daughter to have a “very normal childhood” and “decide on her own when she’s older” what her career path will be, she does see her working in the entertainment industry.

“I think it will be in music because her dad is a composer and in music and she, honestly, music has been her favorite class that she’s been in since she was like four months old,” Tisdale told PEOPLE in February 2023. “We have a music class together, so I hope it’s music.”

A year later, she told PEOPLE that Jupiter was still very into music, and knew all the words to “This Wish” from the Wish movie.

“My daughter sings nonstop,” she said. “The fact that she knows all the words to songs is so wild. I think she’s destined to be a singer for sure.”

Now 3, Jupiter had a silly moment when she surprised Tisdale by dropping a particular F-word. Tisdale realized that her nanny had been reading her the satirical book Go the F–K to Sleep, after Jupiter told her that her dad read it to her before bed, when Jupiter corrected her during a reading of it.

“I grabbed it one night until I realized what it was, so I just kept on reading, ‘Go to sleep,’ ” she told PEOPLE. “She goes, ‘No, mama, no. It’s go the f— to sleep.’ I was like, ‘What the heck?’ “

Three days after Jupiter’s 3rd birthday, Tisdale and her husband announced they are expecting their second child. Tisdale posted a few photos exposing her bare bump, including some snaps with Christopher and Jupiter.

“We can’t wait to meet you ,” she wrote in the caption.

In a video posted on her TikTok the same day, Tisdale elaborated on her fears of getting pregnant again after her difficult first pregnancy.

“After I had Jupiter, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this again.’ I think it was like, physically really hard on me,” she said. “It was just like, not for me the most amazing experience.”

“I think I started to think about it in that way, that like what a blessing it is to be able to have this cute little baby come into the world,” she continued. “When I think about it, do I see Ju-Ju as like, an only child?”

After seeing how social Jupiter was around other kids, she said she and Christopher decided there “should be a little sibling for her.”

“I’m excited and Jupiter’s excited. She keeps telling everybody the big news, that she’s going to be a big sister,” Tisdale said. “I was very nervous though and had a lot of fear in the beginning, being like ‘Oh my gosh can I do this again? Can I physically do this again? Can I mentally do this again?’ “
