According to Cats.org.uk, cats are known to be protective of young people they consider ‘human kittens’, with various stories of cats giving warning if a baby suddenly fell ill, according to Cats.org.uk.

The charity, which works to educate owners about their cats, said cats do not plot or plan to do something to children “through jealousy or revenge” and in some cases even save the lives of abandoned children.

In 2015, a stray cat named Marsha saved the life of an abandoned newborn in Obninsk, Russia, by climbing into the box the newborn was dumped in to keep the child from freezing to death. .

However, the website warns against leaving cats and babies together unsupervised as ‘most scratches are caused by cats resisting the curiosity of grasping or crawling babies’.
